Jake Roberts: Could Whey Protein Assist Him?

By Rob Sutter

Jake "The Snake" Roberts is probably most noteworthy in the world wrestling for being a great talker. In addition, people can recall his bouts with such men as Rick Rude and "Macho Man" Randy Savage and see that his ring psychology is second to none. However, many fans know about his problems with drugs and how he was unable to kick those habits until very recently. Whey protein may help him to come back to that physical stature people remembered from the late 80's.

Fans who know about wrestling's past are probably aware of Jake's life and how it didn't seem like it'd be helped until Diamond Dallas Page took matters into his own hand. DDP was part of wrestling, most notably as WCW Champion, and went on to become a fitness trainer and yoga guru. Thanks to his success in these fields, he helped his close friend in Jake and allowed him to recover, kicking those grueling demons to the side. DDP put in a lot of effort to help his friend and it shows.

I believe that Jake couldn't have made a better choice than moving in with DDP, as his regimens have had success on physical stances. I'm not saying that Jake will get back into the shape he was in during the 80's overnight but what about looking at substances such as whey protein? Organizations who specialize in these and then some, the Muscular Development Store included, understand how muscle mass should be built. Jake's certainly lost a bit in the past thanks to the demons he had to overcome.

When you're a wrestling fan, it's easy to be hit with one sad story after another. People in the business may fall to their own demons and at worst, you learn about them after they've met an unfortunate end. I believe wrestling has evolved to a point where things are cleaner in comparison to what they were in the past. For people who wrestled in the past, I can only hope that DDP and others who are equally as helpful can lend an assist.

The support of Jake's fans over the past number of years came in handy as well. It seemed like he needed money for shoulder surgery and he needed $9,200. The fans helped to not only meet the goal but surpass it, reaching nearly $25,000, as of now. Wrestling fans have fond memories of these characters and when they see that the people behind them need help, they will do what they can. Hopefully this success story of Jake does continue on and we see him in a healthy light for the rest of his life.
